For this project, we wanted to capture the fun and playful side of America's leading morning programs for weather. This poster was on display at NBC's main headquarters in 30 Rock, across NBC Universal digital properties, as well as an Out of Home campaign throughout New York City.
I designed the campaign around a moment captured behind the scenes with Al Roker, Jen Delgado, Anaridis Rodriguez, Stephanie Abrams, Jim Cantore, and of course Sam Champion hamming it up for Sam's selfie between commercial breaks. But things aren't always as they seem.
The team was actually posing for our promo shoot in a fully lit photo studio on a seemless backdrop, following direction from my creative director to pose as if Sam were holding a cameraphone in place of our photographer's Nikon D800. In this shot, Al Roker was hidden behind Jen Delgado though.
Al looks great in this shot, but Stephanie Abrams is being a little goofy, as Steph tends to do from time to time.
Problem solved.
Now we just address the dress for Jen Delgado, and we've got a perfect selfie of America's favorite morning weather personalities ready to go!
Next up, we need to select the perfect backdrop.
Believe it or not, with some careful cropping this behind the scenes photo is exactly what we're looking for.
That desk is so cluttered though...lets work on that.

Perfect. Finish it off with a little branding and the tune-in for each show, and we're in business!
